About

Hi, I’m Tom and a system administrator from Germany. I was always the guy who learned stuff by trying it out myself. So I’ve had a lot of things at home that some people maybe call unusual or strange.

Since I work as a system administrator I have seen some interesting projects and naturally I started to build them at home as well. Sometimes I find solutions that have been useful at work.
And before you realize it you have an ESXi with 8 cores and 16GB RAM at home where your several test servers are running… 🙂

I needed a place where I could write down those things. A wiki was of cause the first choice for this. I started with a private wiki with no public access, but I guess some of the article could be useful for someone else out there and so I started this one and I will move some of the old articles to the new wiki.

Most of the topics I want to write down here are useful for me at home. I’m not able to share the solutions I develop when I’m in the office. But as an IT guy the journey never stops and so I build up test environments at home and find solutions for issues that I would not have without the test environment. So one or another sniped could help in an enterprise environment as well 🙂

I will also try post some links or introduce some useful tools. It should only show you what a tool could do and not replace the documentation.
